Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15

Swept-wing jet fighter

معروض
A 35-degree swept wing, a pressurised cockpit, an ejection seat and the RD-45 engine, later developed into the VK-1, made the MiG-15 an aircraft of a new generation. Less than two years passed from the first flight in December 1947 to service regiments. Over the Yalu river in Korea the MiG-15 met the F-86 Sabre in the first jet-versus-jet air combat in history. Superior vertical manoeuvre and heavy cannon armament forced the American command to reconsider daylight raids. The MiG-15 was licence-built in Czechoslovakia, Poland and China. On display is a MiG-15UTI two-seat trainer, the type on which the first cosmonaut group trained. The cockpit can be viewed from a platform.
